New Hampshire Magazine names DreamFarm Café
"Best of NH 2007"

DreamFarm Creative Arts/DreamFarm Café has been selected as an editor's pick for New Hampshire Magazine's "Best of NH 2007" contest in the category of Best Dream Come True.

DreamFarm Creative Arts is a New Hampshire non-profit organization founded by contemporary jazz singer/songwriter Julie Lavender and her husband Mark LeDoux. The organization facilitates jazz/arts gathering know as DreamFarm Café events. These are events at which guests are treated to the very best of contemporary jazz and visual arts in a lovely, renovated historic barn in Hollis. These events are private. DreamFarm Café events have become catalytic in creating a community of musicians, artists and arts lovers in the area that continues to blossom, as well as making Hollis the place to be for jazz and art.

"Your designation, Best Dream Come True, is a nod to the fact that your vision of a vibrant and contemporary arts center in a historic barn has come to pass and that the Dream Farm Café and related events have created a cultural nexus in your region.... Congratulations on the recognition of your powerful dreams and hard work and what they have brought into being."

Folks are free to bring their own wine or cider and often contribute fruit and cheese or desserts. The atmosphere is friendly, creative, refreshing and stimulating!

"You have an incredible scene going on in your barn! It is such a great community and you have a unique and interesting format, including poets, visual artists and musicians, which your audience obviously loves, because they keep coming back. The informality is really refreshing, breaking down the usual barriers between artists and audience, and getting a friendly dialogue going. I love the fact your focus is on original music. Julie, I love your songs and your voice, and I meant it when I said we'd be happy to accompany you any time, because you music is really special and sophisticated while being straight from the heart. I hope you want to have us back because we would be really happy to hang with you guys again! All the best."

John Funkhouser, Jazz Pianist, Bassis and master mind of "Funkhouse" Jazz Trio

"I feel like DreamFarm is a little gem tucked away in the charming New Hampshire town.  Each time I go there, I know I will be surrounded by the tings that make me the happiest: top notch jazz, great art, interesting and diverse people and great conversations. Until you go and experience how unique and special this place is, you are missing out on something wonderful....."

Mary Buergin, Artist
